Languages on our website
Information in many languages
We aim to provide information on our websites in all 24 EU official languages. However, the main content will be published in English. We are currently working to make some of the sections of our website more accessible by publishing certain sections in other languages. We know some content will be unavailable in your chosen EU language. We encourage our readers to use certified translation services.
We aim to strike a reasonable balance between respect for speakers of the EU's many languages and practical considerations such as limited translation resources. Some content, such as research papers, news and policies, will not always be available in all EU languages. Other content might be available only in languages that user research tells us will reach the largest audience.
All content is published in at least English, because research has shown that with English we can reach around 85% of visitors to our sites in either their preferred foreign language or their native language.
Which languages are used on our webpages?
Priority content, research, guides, toolkits, news, policies, key political documents and some of the other most visited CTM-E-managed webpages on the ‘ctm-.org’ web domain, such as the ‘Official Counter-Terrorism Medicine Europe Website’, is only available in English.
Urgent or short-lived information may appear first in a few or even one language. Depending on user needs, other languages may be added later.
Specialised information (technical information, campaigns, calls for tender, local news and events) may be available in several or even just one language—the choice depends on the target audience.
